What is Active Hope?
Active Hope empowers us to find and offer our best response when facing concerns about our world situation.
It is about becoming active participants in a journey towards making our hopes for the future of life on planet earth a reality.
The interactive, group process is based on The Work that Reconnects,
and was developed by Joana Macy and Chris Johnstone specifically for this time to help us to “face the mess we are in with unexpected resilience and creative power”.
Active Hope gives us space to:
• explore how we feel about what is going on in the world
• imagine the type of world we hope to create
• find our part in the change we desire and plan our first steps towards our hopes
All of us – individually and collectively – need to play our part in the transition towards a society that supports the flourishing of all life.
Active Hope offers us a vehicle for making this necessity a reality.
Tamzin Hale Hurley and I co-facilitate workshops in person and online. We can offer introductory experiences as well as more in-depth six-part courses. We can also offer workshops at events, retreats and festivals.
Workshops and courses can include:
• an exploration of Active Hope concepts and stories
• spoken, written, creative, meditative and embodied practices
• a mix of group, pair and individual work
• the chance to share, connect, explore ideas and feedback – all in a supportive, connected and safe space
We trained with Chris Johnstone, co-author of the Active Hope book, to facilitate this work. Please get in touch for more information.
